If you love trekking and tree planting or searching for similar activities like this, Mount Maranat is one of the many places you could go to. Trek to Mt. Maranat is approximately two to three hours depending on your pace, and there are already trees in the campsite ready for transplant.
How To Get There
From the city, take a bus ride going to Tungko and disembark at Jollibee Tunkgo. There’s a market nearby where you will take a jeepney headed to Licao-Licao (jumpoff).
There are three water sources so you don’t have to bring a lot unless you are sensitive. Two are along the trail and one is in the camp site.
Registration: Php. 10.00
Jeep Fare: Php. 27.00
Bus Fare: Php. 50.00 from Guadalupe, Makati
Like A Big Gathering
November 16 – 17, 2013, Travel Tipid organized an event. We were 11 in our group but on the event, there were Rangers (military) on patrol. There were also other groups including students with musical instruments that had their charity event at the nearby school.
Everybody was socializing including the military. While most of us were drinking, the students were playing instrumental Filipino folk songs. The students were amazing with their instruments. We found out that they were the champion in a recent competition.
It was indeed a big gathering. I can see that everybody is enjoying that night.
On the 17th, we proceeded with the events objective. We transplanted trees, one tree per person. It is obligatory to name your tree. I called mine “Hangover” because I was hangover the morning after our “socials” night.
Thank you Travel Tipid for the event!
Trees are amazing! We all know the benefits of it. Plant trees before its too late.
