The Island of Boracay in Aklan is one of the Philippines most famous tourist destination specially to foreigners. The island is well known for it’s white fine sand.
Boracay is visited by a lot of foreign and local tourist to enjoy the beach and activities the island and it’s locals offer.
Below is my actual trip to Boracay to guide you in planning your’s 🙂
Hotel: La Carmela de Boracay
Best month to travel: March to April
La carmela de Boracay offers a lot of group promos, if you are on a tight budget but you are looking for a beachfront hotel in station 2, La Carmela de Boracay would be a great choice.
Boracay is also famous for its night parties so for party lovers, you will surely enjoy Boracay!
During our stay, we availed of their family package for 3 days and 2 nights which only costs Php8000 pesos.
Inclusive in the package:
Standard room for 4 (2 double beds, aircon, hot and cold shower, a television set, a ref and a safety box)
Breakfast for 4 good for 2 days
Dinner for 4 also good for 2 days.
Land transfers are also offered by La Carmela but is a bit more expensive. If you are on a tight budget you could just make your own arrangements, you will be able to save more than 50%.
From Kalibo Airport
Upon arrival go directly outside the airport, do not mind the package land transfers that you will see upon arrival, go straight outside and look for the van shuttles. They only charge 175 per person from Kalibo airport to Caticlan Jetty Port. Once in Caticlan Jetty Port pay the environmental fee of 75 pesos and the terminal fee of 100 pesos plus the 25 pesos for the boat fare. Once in the island, tricycles are available costing 150 pesos from the port to your hotel.
From Boracay till Kalibo, you could take the same land transfers you took upon arrival. The van shuttles are readily available at the exit of Caticlan Jetty Port.
